Dwain McDonald joined delivery company DPD UK (formerly Parceline) in 1988 as a 22-year-old sales executive and worked his way up to become CEO in 2008.
An innovative and passionate business leader, he was the driving force behind the company’s phenomenal transformation during the last 12 years from a middle of the pack B2B carrier to undisputed Number 1 in the home delivery market. The company doubled in size since 2013 – notched up annual sales of £1.9bn in 2020, and is aiming to hit £2.4bn turnover by 2025. DPD became the ‘go-to’ carrier for high profile retailers who value a flexible and personalised doorstep experience.
DPD employed 22,000 people, operated more than 8,000 vehicles from 84 depots and delivered nearly 300 million parcels a year.
